At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce to-day, tho following resolution was carried : That Messrs Sntter, Moody, iuul Rutherford bo appointed a deputation to proceed to Wellington with the object of urging Government to placo a aum of money on tho estimates this session to complete the now railway station at Timaru and sidings ; also to call for tenders for completing the railway line from Albury to Fairlie Creek withaslittlo delay as possible John Blair, arrostcd in Wellington for the ombezzlomont of moneys belonging to tho railway department here, was brought up at the Resident Magislratp'i <"* vi>-t this morning and remanded till Monday.
