The Wellingtoh.— The N.Z.S.If. Company's steamer Weilington, Captain H. B. Francis, left Hanukau heads on the 18th instant, at 3 - 30, p.m., and arrived at Taranaki at nine, a.m., on the 19th instant. Left there at threo, p.m., and arrived at Nelson at 8-30, a.m., ou the 20th instant. Thb Tababua.— The P.N.Z. and A.B.M. Company's steamer Tararua, Captain John Gardyne, arrived here on Tuesday evening, at seven. She left Sydney on Thursday, the 16th, at noon ; experienced fine weather during the passage, with light head winds. Up to the time of the Tararua' s sailing there waa no news of the English mail. Thb Stobsi Bibd. — The three-masted schooner Storm Bird, Captain W. Simpson, arrived at Taranaki on the 19th instant, at two, p.m., from Stewart's Island, which place she bad left on the 13th instant, and Otago on the 14th instant, with timber. Basque Rose. — This vessel, which left Nelson for Taranaki on the sth instant, with a part of her original cargo from London, was signalled at New Plymouth on the 9th, but the state of the weather caused her to keep at sea, and she had not reappeared up to the 17th, although in the interim there had been nearly a week of fine weather. The Otago.— The s.b. Otago, belonging to the P.N.Z. and A.R.M. Company, William Smith, commander, left the Bluff, on the 12th instant, at 2*45, p.m., and arrived at Port Chalmers at 345, a.m., the following morning, making the run in thirteen hours. Left Port Chalmers at 3*46, p.m.. on the loth, and arri\ ed at Ly ttelton at 1045 on the 16th, making the passage in eighteen hours. At one o'clock, a.m., during a strong galei from the S.E., the steering apparatus ga\e way; the vessel broached to, and shipped a little water, but experienced no further inconvenience, the relieving-tackles having been immediately- brought to the duty of the usual steering gear, left Lyttelton on the 17th, at 3, p.m., and arrived at 'Wellington at 4, a.m., the following morning, making the run in fourteen hours. Left Wellington on the 10th, at 12*30, p.m., arriving at Picton the same afternoon, at live. She was being towed out by the Gundagai, when the hawser parted, and she drilled on to the South Spit. Tub Pbince Alfbed.— We can hear no tidings of the Government p.s. Prince Alfred, which left the roadstead from stress of weather on the 4th instant. She had not arrived at any Southern port at our latest dates, but it is quite possible she might have made for Baglan, or some other place lor fuel, of which she had run very short. On her return here she will probably proceed to the Waitara with timber for a blockhouse. — Taranaki HerulJ, June 17.
