WAIMEA EAST ELECTION.
The election for a member for the above district took place at Richmond, on Monday last. The following was the state of the poll at the close :— Cautley . . . .54 Muller .... 40 Majority for Cautley . 14 The Returning Officer having declared the election to have fallen upon Mr. Cautley, both candidates briefly returned thanks.
