ELECTION FOR THE SUBURBS.

This election which took place yesterday terminated in a most decided victory for Mr Eichardson , who came forward as an Opposition candidate. By the returns it will be seen that he beat his opponent by large majorities everywhere except at Richmond, where Mr. Kelling very naturally received the support of the large number of Germans who are resident in the district. The votes polled were as follows : — Kichardson. - Kelling. Richmond 24 70 Stoke 28 6 Nelson 30 5 Suburban North 48 8 130 89 Majority for Richardson — 41.
