FIRE AT PAHIATUA.
(Peh Press , Asbooiation.) PAHIATUA, June 27. Shortly after one this morning a fire broke out in a building owned by T. C. Williams, of Wellington, and occupied by Jack Ping, a Chinese fruiterer, W. I. Husband, land agent, and Abraham and Williams, auctioneers. The fire originated in a sitting-room at the back of Ping's shop, and extended to Husband's office, doing considerable damage to the roof, but it was quickly suppressed by the Brigade. No damage was done to Abraham and Wilhame otfice but Ping's stock in the shop was completely destroyed and Husbands papers and office furniture suffered to some extent. The insurances on the building was £850 in the Liverpool, London, and Globe; Ping's stock, £300 in the New Zealand, and £300 in the Alliance; Husband's office furniture and appliances, £75 in the Sun.
