The elder bridesmaids carried similar bouquets with heliotrope Streamers. Mrs Draper (mother of : the bride) wore black brocaded silk; voile, a black hat trimmed with violets, and silver fox furs, while Mrs A very (mother of the bridegroom) was dressed in black silk relieved with cream overall lace, and wore a black hat with a white osprev. The bridegroom's presents to the subsidiary bridesmaids were as follows: Miss] Penney, gold brooch set with sap- j nhires, pearls and diamonds; Misses Wanrlen and. Sutherland, .gold brooches set with diamonds; and Misses Belle Draper and Denby, gold brooches. The bridegroom, who was in military ceremonial dress, was attended by'Mr N. Healey (Nelson) as best man, and Mr H. Wanden (Blenheim) as- groomsman. The reception was neld in. the Anglican Sunday school, 'and was of an enthusiastic nature. Mr and Mrs Avery, who were the recipients of many valuable presents, including several cheques, afterwards left by motor-oar for Nelson, wliere the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's travelling outfit was a navy "blue tailor-made costume, black velvet hat with champagne ostrich feathers, and a set of black fox furs.
