POISONING CASE AT CULLENSVILLE.

(Havelock

Correspondent.)

News has just come to hand of the unfortunate death of Frank Sparks, Mahakipawa, who was engaged at the time shearing. He went into the hotel, saw four or five bottles in a row, thought one of them was tea, and drank off a glass. The contents of the bottle, however, proved to be oil in which charges used for blasting stumps were previously soaked. No notice was taken of the mistake till three hours had elapsed, when he began to feel seriously ill, and Dr. Williams was sent for. By the time the doctor could be got there, the unfortunate man was beyond his aid. The greatest sympathy will be felt for his wife and five children. Deceased's age was 56.
