DEATH OF AN OLD HUTT RESIDENT.

WELLINGTON, Feb. 3. The death occurred suddenly yesterday afternoon at the Lower Hutt of William Alfred Fitzherbert, eldest son of the late Sir William Fitzherbert, and an old and well-known resident of the Hutt district. Mr Fitzherbert was proceeding on horseback to the Gear Island, when he suddenly became weak. He dismounted and called his assistant employee, who was with him. The latter led Mr Fitzherbert along the river bank, but he collapsed almost immediately ,and expired. Dr. Purdy, who was sent for, had been attending deceased recently, and states that death was due to heart failure. *
