(UNITED PBESB ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, October 8. Messrs Eogen and Co. are giving up their poultry farm at Karori. During the 5£ years it has been m existence the firm have won over a thousand prize 3. At a meeting of the delegates representing the Association Football Clubs of Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago, it was resolved to form an Association to be known as the New Zealand Football Association. Leslie (Ross) and Henderson (Wellington) were appointed a Committee to draft rules. The immediate cause for the formation of an Association is the presentation of a silver shield for competition by Mr Brown, whisky merchant, of Glasgow. The immigration and emigration returns of September Bhow the arrivals to be 938 persons, while 1,238 departed. The arrivals were from New South Wales 435, United Kingdom 190, Victoria 226, Tasmania 30, and from other places 57. The departures were to tho United Kingdom 62, Queensland 3, New South Wales 801, Victoria 208, Tasmania 75, and other places 91.
