Opawa Bridge. ALL HEAVY TRAFFIC over the Opawa Bridge is STOPPED, until further notice. Cyrus Goulter, 659 Provincial Secretary. To the Electors of the District oi Wairau. •71 ENTLEMEN.— I ftm not a little V.^ surprised at the political changes which have taken place, and regret that my absence m England has prevented me from taking a part therein. The imperative reason which almost compelled my leaving the Colony for a short time, will be still m your memory ; nor will my constituents forget for how many years I have borne a large share of the burdens, as well as devoted myself to the interests of the Province, and I feel confident that they will not begrudge me the brief respite I have enjoyed. The days are not many ere I shall be again among you, and I now address you to bespeak again your vote and interest for my return, as member for Wairau m the next Parliament, when, be well assured, your own interests and those of the Colony m general, will receive my earnest consideration. The great measure of Provincial Abolition I look upon as an accomplished fact ; b\it I conclude that the equally important question of reconstruction, so as to give the largest measure of local self-government, with efficiency of administration, remains to be decided by the next Parliament. Looking forward with pleasure to a meeting which I propose to call on my arrival m the Province, and which I trust may not be prolonged beyond the first week m January, I shall then review the past with you, and trust to assure myself of your confidence m me for the future. I have the honor to be, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, 058 . a. p. Seymour! To the Electors of the District of Wairau. /^ ENTLEMEN,— Many of the Electors having requested me to come forward as a Candidate, I have the honor to offer myself for election to represent you m the next Parliament. That you may know fully what are my opinions on the questions now before the Colony, I will hold Meetings m the various localities of the distiict, due notice of which will be given. I have the honor to be, Gentlemen^ Your obedient servant, •577 OEO.RGE HENDERSON. To the Electors of the Picton IHstrict. /^1 ENTLEMEN,— I beg respectfully to intimate my intention of becoming a CANDIDATE for the honor of representing your district m the General Assembly. The numerous and UNUSUALLY IMPORTANT political questions that will engage the attention of the new Parliament demand, on the part of every elector, the most earnest consideration, and on the part of every Candidate an explicit declaration of his views. - That I may fully and freely state my opinions, and the reasons that induce me to seek your suffrages, I shall request the favour of your attendance at Meetings, the localities and dates of which I will m due course notify. I have the honor to be, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, 634s JOHN GODFREY. For Sale or to Let, ONE of Robinson's Self-Delivery REAPING MACHINES, m excellent order. Apply to J.
