In a football match, played at Ka- ' ponga on Thursday, Kaponga (this ■ year's champion club team) beat Tara- . naki Association rop. team by one goal i (scored by Robson) to nil. Kaponga had advantage of playing throughout r tho game, and fully deserved their win. ; Yesterday we reprinted from tho New Zealand Times a report that Mungatoki (amongst other factories) had disposed of its output by consignment. Messrs E. Griffiths and Co.'s latest advices from London show that butter prospects are extremely good and improving. It is considered probable that thp price will advance still further. ? A. rather unique event took place in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Carter-] ton, last week, when the baby daugh- i ter of W. Quin Kee, Chinese fruiterer and storekeeper of that town, was christened by the vicar. ' It is exceedingly satisfactory to note (remarks the Wairarapa Times) that there is a tendency among sheep breeders in other countries to come to New ( Zealand for stud sheep where they forJ merly went to the Old Country. Mr -*v.W. Perry, of "Penrose," has just shipped, per the s.s. Paparoa, five stud Linciln rams, to the order of an Argentine buyer. Quite recently, too, Mr Perry sent some sheep to the United States and received a letter from the purchaser stating that the sheep were about the best he had ever had the pleasure of handling.
