ELTHAM HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The third annual show of the above society was held at the Athenaeum on Wednesday. The weather was somewhat against a good attendance, but, notwithstanding the threatening aspect, a large gathering assembled, and the hall was crowded. The show passed eff well, and Mr Canning, secretary, upon whom devolved a wide range of duties, carried out his work well, whilst the judges succeeded in giving general satisfaction. Exhibits were numerous, between 700 and 800 coming forward, and these were specially good. The exhibits sent by the nurserymen for exhibition only were a sight in themselves. The various class stewards and other officers worked hard, and, as a result oi their efforts, everything passed off well. Following is the prize list : —
