A WELLINGTON WEDDING.

A wadding in which an unusual depth of warm and friendly interest was centred,' took place at St. John's j Church/ on Wednesday,- • March sth. Johnson, brother of the bride ,and Mr. Rbbieson. The bridesmaids ware Miss Wil'wmson. (Greymou'bi, cousin of the bride, Miss Marjorie NicholJs, and little Miss Mary Wardell. The bride's gown was of very soft thick, ivory -satin with panel and corsage draperies of beautifuj applique. - Small peasis .outlined .the.. hems -and seams and festoons. of larger pearls fell, upon the sorsage and. were caught- under a cabodhon of pearls at the shoulder. The pointed train wicfi its Y rubhes cf ninon veiled a fish-tail -train combined with folds of soft white net, and the mellow tones of the wedding- veU'which had been her, mother's •; fell from . the tiny Julie 'Cap. which ; completed the bride's charming toilette. : A lovely shower bouquet . was " carried.

T;he dresses of the e'der bridesmaids were of hydrangea blue crepe-de-chine with draped skir's, smartly combined with heavy white lace- on the corsage, and a touch of black introduced in the buttons., harmonising •• with the quaint pic'ure hats of black panne irimmcd, wiih larjjc' soiV roses ol lbo i:repe-de-chine. . Tlieir bouquets wore" of pale. p/nk. loses and autumn foliage, tied with pale pink streamers. The dainty frock ..of. the small bridesmaid was . of . whi ■?. muslin ' and she . wore a littic mob cap of muslin, with lace ruffles, unc) carried a basket of pink roses. . ' The bride was 'given away by. her father, and a touch of sentiment in the family records was given by the fact tha: this day had been chosen as it was the twenty-feigJith anniversary of the marriage of the bride's parents Many smart and charming frocks were vrorn. Mrs. Johnson, mother of '.he bride, was in a beautiful gown of grey crepe-di'-chine, with skirt panel and trimming of delicate ozydised lace, . seams, hems, and buttons hand-em-broidered with French knots to match the gown, hat of grey velvet with grey fur and grey ospreys, a bouquet of deep yellow roses; Mrs Williamson (the bride's aunt) was in black Shantung silk with black guipure lace, and garniture of Maltese lace, black velvet •hat, with grey plumes ; Mrs Carver, sis er of the bridegroom, wore a Ibve)y frock of '-©M rose charmeu>se c)oth >with Oriental cm-broiderfes of gold picture hat of old gold velours with shaded ostrich plume; Mrs. Frost (aunt of the bridegroom) was in a coat and skirt of silver. grey laffetas silk, heaver hat of saxe bJue with long black ostrich plume and choux of tan gorinc, her bouque was of blue ihydrageas,; Miss Anderson was in a pretty pale mauve muslin, and ;her large cream hat was wreathed with roses. After the ceremony a reception washeld at the residence of Captain and Mrs. Johnson, in ChuTch street, -where a large marquee .occupied the whole of the lawn. The walls were " draped most effectively with pink and white, the tables were decorated with Rale pink and white sweet peas, tine boh- ; -bons and crackers all carrying out the same deli-cate colout scheme. A floral' wadding bell was hung above a unique' work 'of art, -four stories high, and decorated very withentirely nautical devices. Quite a notable feature of the reception was; tho unusual number of gentlemen among the wedding guests, bronzed, cheerful op-en-air comrades of the sea many of them. Among: the guests were Mrs. Seddon . wearing a very. hamJsopie -costume , .of black chmmeuse. black toque with ostrich plumes ; Miss Seddon, costume of black satin duchesse with embroidered Greek tunic of black ninon, black velvet hat, wreather with white ostrich plumbs ; Mrs Robert Fltetcher, smart tailored costume of mole grey cloth with black and white. em,broidery, black satin hat with black plumes; Mrs H. Campbell, ,a lovely gown of eggshell blue voile with panels of blue willow pattern Paisley silk, white panne velvet hat lined with black ; Mrs. Meadow'croft, handsome' white lace dress- veiled with black lace, bands of black velvet caught witih oriental blue enamel sEdes ornamenting the corsage, hat of black velours massed with oriental blue plumes; Mrs. Devinej handsome gown of bishop's purjde veiled with marquisette of same shade, with tunic effect, black plumed hat; Miss Devine, gfey Irish poplin with heavy sou'ache embroidery" in turquoise blue, black hat ."with wihite ■aspreys ■> Mrs. Falk Cohen, costume of blank armure silk, smart velvet hat with violet plume; Mrs. Troup, black ninca over charmeuse, biscuit straw hat wr.h brown plumes.

The wedding presents, which were displayed in the dining-room, were very numierous, and included a wonderful array of Ibvely silver and ■ china Notable among the presents was Mrs. Johnson's gift to her daughter of a, semi-granc} Lipp piano, Captain Johnson's substantial cheque, Mrs. Carver's handsome Carver "Grandfather's clock"— but the list would be endless. The bride's gift from her bridegroom was a lovely set of black fox funs and -.travelling dress was a very smart coat and skirt of grey serge:, richly braided ■wide black velvet hat.- --....; Mr. and Mrs. Gram left by mctfof car en route for Wang.anui and the ' Waitomo Caves.-. •
