NOMINATIONS.

Napier, July 15, Sheehan and Ormond were nominated for Napier to-day. The show of hands was largely in favor of Ormond. Sheehan demanded a poll. For Hawke'a Bay Captain Russell, Sutton, and H. Desmond were nominated. The show of hands was in favor of Captain Russell. 1 Westport, July 15. At the nomination to-day John Munro and Eugene O'Connor were nominated. The show of hands favored the latter. Invercargill, July 15. Captain M'Kenzie and G. F. Richardson were nominated for Mataura, and Messrs T. J. Lumsden, 0. Cowan, J. S. Canning, and G. Hobbs, for Hokonui. Messrs H. Feldwick, G. Lumsden, and J. Hatch, were nominated to-day for Invercargill. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Feldwick. Wellington, July 15. Dr Newman was re-elected for Thorndon unopposed. At the nomination for South Wellington George Fisher and W. Hutchison were proposed. The show of hands was in favor of the former. The nomination cf candidates for Foxton took place to-day. Mr J. G. Wilson, Mr 0. B. Izard, and Mr R, Brown

were nominated. The shows of hands was in favor of Mr Izard. A poll was demanded. Port Chalmers, July 15. Mr Macandrew was elected without opposition. Hawera, July 15. At the nomination for Egmont this morning, Major Atkinson and Mr A. A. Fantham were proposed. The show of I hands was in favor of Major Atkinson. Christchurch, July 15. The nomination for St. Albans took place to-day. The candidates and show of hands were as follow :— F. J. Garrick, 42 ; Joseph Jelson, 5 ; G. Cooper, 3. Balclutha, July 15. Mr J. W. Thompson has been returned unopposed for the Clutha District. Oamaru, July 15. The Waitaki nomination took place here to-day. D. Sutherland Duncan, and T. Ferrens were nominated. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Duncan. A poll was demanded. Timaru, July 15. The Gladstone nominations were held at noon at Washdyke. Messrs J. H. Sutter, J. M. Toomey, J. Anderson, and George Morris were proposed. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Morris. Kumara, July 15. . At the nomination two candidates were proposed, viz—Richard John Seeddon, and Edwin Blake. The show of hands was— - Seddon, 75; Blake, 23. Hamilton, July 15. At Waipa nomination there was a large attendance. Major Jackson and Edward, Lake, were proposed, and the show of hands resulted as follows Lake, 20; Jackson, 14. ; Dunedin, July 15. At Roslyn Messrs John Bathgate and Archibald Wilson Ross were proposed. The show of hands was in favor of the latter. At the Tuapeka nomination the show of hands was— J. C. Brown, 67, and F. Outaille, 6. At the Dunedin East nomination Mr Matthew Woods Green and Mr Robert Stout were proposed. The show of hands was— Stout, 100 ; Green, 51. At the Dunedin West nomination the Hon. Thomas Dick and Mr William Downie Stewart were nominated. The show of hands was — Dick, 50 ; Stewart, 28. Mr Dick said that if a coalition took place between Major Atkinson and Sir George Grey he would not form one of such a party. At the Peninsula nomination Messrs J. M. Larnach, Owen James Hod«e, and John Wells were nominated. The show of hands was — Larnach, 50 ; Hodge, 30 ; Wells, 8. For Waikouaiti, Messrs Jas. Green, J. C. Buckland, and Arkle, were nominited. At the nomination for Dunedin south, Messrs H. S. Fish, and James Gore, were proposed. The show of hands was -Fish, 78; Gore, 69. Messrs Fergus, S. M. Brown, and O. T. Homsley, were nominated for Wakatipu to-day. The Caversham nomination took place to-day, when Mr William Barron, was returned unopposed. At the nomination for Dunedin central, Messrs Bracken, J. C. Bradshaw, and J. G. S. Grant were nominated. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Bracken. James M'Donald, Robert Gillies, and Henry Driver were nominated. The show of hands was in favor of Driver. Auckland, July 15. At the Waitemata nomination Messrs Hurst and Farnell were nominated. The latter only obtained a seconder just as the Returning Officer was about to declare Hurst elected unopposed. At the North Franklyn nomination Major Harris and Mr W. F. Buckland were nominated. The nomination for the Bay of Islands took place at noon to- day. Messrs Hobbs, Gannon, and M'Kenzie were nominated. The show of hands was— Hobhs, 26 ; Gannon, 3 ; M'Kenzie 3. A poll was demanded. At Parnell nomination the show of hands was — George, 28 -, Moss, 14 ; Fitzgerald (a candidate nominated in jest), 9. ■ At the Franklyn South nomination M'Fadden withdrew, and Hamlin was reelected. At Rodney nomination Moat and N. Wilson were proposed. The show of hands was in favor of the latter. Waimate, July 15. The nominations for Waimate to-day were W. J. Steward, W- J. Black, and A. Hayes. The show of hands was in favor of Steward.
