SCHOOL EXAMINATION.
The Lyfcton Street school was examined on June 2nd by Dr. Smyth and Mr Milne. Before dismissing the school Dr. Smyth, at the request of the head-master, after an appropriate speech, presented the prizes given by the committee for the best compositions on the " Excursion to Wanganui." The prizes were won by: Standard Vl.— Vera Sandilands. Standard V. - Robin Brennan. Standard IV.— Ilyn Sandilands. Standard lll.— Thomas Hick 3. The following are the names ol' those who passed at the examination : — Standard Vl.— Edward Holmes, Sophia Hicks, Yera Sandilands, Geraldine Thompson. Standard V. — Robm Brennan, John Heald, James Knight, Albert Murch, Kate Thompson, Beatrice Thompson. Standard IV.— Walter Harfortf, Oswald Lockhead, Frederick Miers, James Swallow, George Wilkinson, Eva Hall, Ellen Jones, Frances Johnson, Jessie Mountfort, Elsie Buff, Ilyn Sandilands. Standard 111. — John Donnelly, Thomas Hicks, Alfred Mai, Dennis Richmond, Dugald Thompson, Melvyn Wyllie. Mabol • Carthew, Ada Hall, Jane Mountfort, Elsie MeSweeney.
