Plays and Music at Lyceum Club

! Two one-act comedies ■ and a programme of music provided a pleasant evening's entertainment for members of the Wellington Lyceum Club last night. The hostesses. Mrs. D. A. [Herbert (president) and Miss M. E. P. j Ahem, were also the producers of the plays, and those who took part were Mesdames Mac Donald, Herbert, White, Thompson, Yon Haast, Misses Keasberry, Ahem, Harrison, and Mr. K. Dixon. The musical programme was given by Miss Dorothy Dowling (pianoj forte solos), and Mrs. Doogan and Miss Kohn (vocal solos), their accompanists being Mrs. Ina Stevens and Mr. Yon Haast. Repairs at Levin Memorial Home. The matron, reporting to the Levin Memorial Home committee at a recent meeting, said that all the children were well and many were spending the school holidays with friends. Death of Mrs. 11. A. Ilanncn. News has been received by cabJe, states the Christchurch "Press," of the deatli of Mrs. Mabel Hannen, Hock House, Boughlon-Monehil-sea, Kent, youngest and last surviving daughter of the late Mr. George Gould, Harnbleden, ChrisU'burch, and widow of the lion. .11. A. Ilannen. Mr. Hannen died in .1933, being then Deputy Lieutenant of Kent. In his wide public life, Mrs. Hannen always took her share. The Hannen family are partners in the famous London firm of Christies, and Mrs. Hannen also became a great coli lector and connoisseur. She never lost j I her interest in New Zealand, and her | I New Zealand friends, of whom she had many. She is survived by two daughters. Mrs. Hirst and Mrs. Salt, both of whom are on active war service. Mrs. Hannen was a sister of Mr. George Gould, who died in Christi church this week.
