DANZIG MOVEMENT
NAZI DETERMINATION REASSERTS
SPEECH BY LEADER
WEEKEND PASSES QUIETLY
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received July 10, 9.40 a.m.) DANZIG, July 9.* Ten thousand German citizens of Danzig assembled in the village of Oliva, booed at Poland, and laughed at sarcastic references to Britain in a speech by the Nazi leader, Herr Forster, in which he reasserted their determination to rejoin the Reich. \. Herr Forster spoke beneath ah immense banner inscribed "The Fuhrer has ordered, we follow.** He said that the most outstanding Polish swindle was the contention that Danzig was a Free City. The Polish minority was insignificant, were only guests in Danzig, and should remain quiet. The Germans intended that the city should return to the Reich and would decide their own fate, backed up by Germany. He taunted England and France with irresolution and weakness, and fervently pledged allegiance to Herr Hitler. Tlie tone of Herr Forster's address left the impression that union with the Reich is less urgent than hitherto. The weekend passed quietly.
