CHOICE FOR PAHIATUA

One of the largest farmers in th« Wairarapa, and a well-known supporter of the Labour Party, Mr. G. A. Hansen, of Kaiparoro, Eketahuna, has been selected by the affiliated organisations to contest the Pahiatua electorate in Labour's interest against the sitting member, Sir Alfred Ransom. Mr. Hansen, who is 40 years of age, has been a director of the Kaiparoro Dairy Co. for 18 years, and the chairman of directors during the last two years. He is also the vice-president of the local branch of the Farmers' Union and a member of the school committee.

In addition to Mr. Hansen, the national executive of the Labour Partyhas endorsed the following sitting members for the electorates named:— J. G. Barclay, M.P.', Marsden; A. H. Nordmeyer, M.P., Oamaru; D. Barnes, M.P., Waitaki; H. M. Christie, M.P, Waipawa; D. G. McMillan, M.P., Dunedin West; W. C. Denham, M.P., Invercargill.
