CRUISER BALEARES
BRITISH RESCUE EFFORTS
AN ABLE SEAMAN KILLED
(Received , March 7, noon.) ■ LONDON, March 6. The British destroyers Boreas and Kempenfelt, in patrolling under the Nyon Agreements, rescued many survivors of the rebel cruiser Baleares, which an unconfirmed radio report announces was sunk 40 miles from Cartagena. ■" I The Admiralty states that loyalist •bombing planes attacked other rebel vessels whose survivors are being | transferred. . I ' A splinter from a bomb which exploded- in-the water killed Able Seaman George Long, of the Boreas, and . wounded three of his shipmates. The destroyers were unscathed.
