LIP-READING
The lip-reading students who belong to the New Zealand League for the Hard of Hearing have recently been able to attend (through the invitation of Mr. Kennedy, of the Gas Company) two highly instructive cooking demonstrations given by Miss Una Carter in the Gas Company's new and up-to-date demonstration theatre.
A unique feature of the demonstration was that Miss Una Carter's interesting lectures have been given for the first time in New Zealand to a' lipreading audience. The keen appreciation and enjoyment throughout by the students was certain proof that the lectures were closely followed by all.
At both demonstrations the students were the guests of 'the management for morning tea, and they expressed cordial thanks for the kind consideration shown towards them by the company.
