AUCKLAND'S SEA LION DIES

Angel, the young Australian sea lion which was recently acquired by the Auckland Zoological Park • authorities from a travelling showman, is dead (states the "New Zealand Herald"). She was sold when her mate died,, but whether she was suffering from a broken heart or some more material trouble, Angel did not live long to enjoy her new surroundings, and died after only 26 days at the zoo. A postmortem is being held. The sea lion was the first at the zoo for several years and was notable on account of its small size, being only three feet long. However, three sea lions of a Californian species are expected from San Diego in a few weeks.
