LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATES
Labour candidates for the forthcoming Lower Hutt local body elections were announced today by Mr. P. Dowse, president of the Lower Hutt branches of the New Zealand Labour Party. The .candidates are as follows:— ■ Borough Council.—Percy Dowse, William Francis Hall, Charles. Fenwick Hart, Robert Webb Johnson, Ronald George Maxwell, Joseph Taylor. Power Board.—Percy Dowse, Ernest Nelson. . ■ • . . River Board.—William Francis Hall.
Hospital Board.—Mary Dowse. Gas Board.—Charles Fehwick Hart, Ronald George Maxwell,. Joseph Taylor.
Harbour Board.—Hon. Mark Fagan, M.L.C., Walter Nash, M.P.
Mr. Dowse said he had every confidence in the candidates who were being submitted. Their ideas were exactly in accord with the Labour Party's policy of _ administering local body affairs in the interests of all the people. The candidates had one peculiar advantage, in that they had a long experience 'of actual working conditions. It would be the policy of all of them to see that necessary public works were carried out in the best possible way without interference by any outside interests. ' , '. ■
