EUGBY, May 2. The King was present at the Newmarket races.today to see. the race for the Two Thousand Guineas"' Stakes, which is the first of the flat season's classic eyents. The race was won by Lord Glanely's unbeaten Colombo, which has now won nine successive races, and is favourite for the Derby. Colombo^ starting price was. the shortest for the race within memory. . Following, are details of "the event, one of the most important in. the English racing season:— a TWO THOUSAND GUINEAS, a sweepstakes with 2000 guineas added; second 10 per cent.'and third 5 per cent, of whole stakes; for three-year-old '^entire colts ,or 'fillies Eowlev mile^ . ■ ■ -' ' <'- -. •■• '•".
