(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, 13th Nov. Mr. 11. I!. Young, of West port, is the Official Coalition candidate for Avon. Mr. Young is a civil engineer by profession and a director of several (•(inipanies. He had intended taking up his residence in Chrislchurch ami is moving here immediately.

Mr. Young had previously been announced as tho official Coalition candidate for Buller, as the opponent of tho Leader of the Opposition, Mr. H. E. Holland. He has now withdrawn from that field and transferred to oppose Mr. D. G. Sullivan, the sitting Labour representative, in Avon.
