N.Z. HOWARD LEAGUE FOR PENAL REFORM.
Tho annual general meeting of the "Wellington branch of the New Zealand Howard League for Penal Reform will be held at the Dominion Farmers' Institute at 8 p.m. to-morrow. The annual report and balance-sheet will be presented, and the election of officers will take place. At the close of the formal business Mr. B. L. Dallard, Controller-General of Prisons, will give nu address on "Prison Development in New Zealand." Mr. Dallard's work in connection, with prison reform is well known, and it is hoped that all who are interested in social welfare work will take this opportunity of hearing him. Mr. A. "W. Free will preside, and a collection will be taken up to defray expenses.
Motion pictures of the moon have been faken in America through the Princeton telescope, to which a camera was fastened l>y special apparatus.
