BOXING
The Wellington Boxing Association win hold its annual amateur boxing championship tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday nest, and the many patrons of the amateur sports will be provided with excellent entertainment during the tournament. Many of the competitors will be appearing for the first time in the annual cnftiupionships, many with the hopes of being the winner in their respective clans, alsu with the thoughts of being picked to r«> present the Wellington Association at th» New Zealand boxing championships, which are to be held in Palmerston North ccw the 21st. 22nd, and 23rd August. Among' the many entries received are those of the leading amateurs who have been taking part in the preliminary bouts during the past few months, and it will be interesting to see bow they shape against the many newcomers. Competitors should procure the medical card from their trainer immediately, and same should be completed,as early as possible. Weighing officials will be in attendance at the Town Hall on Tuesday, the 29th of August, between the hours of 12 and 2 and 5 and 6 p.m. Competitors must produce their completed; medical cards before weight will be certified to. It is useless to attend for weigh" ing unless the medical certificate has bee* certified.
