LATE MR. JOHN DUTHIE
The funeral of the late Hon. John Duthie, M.L.C., took place at Karori Cemetery this morning. At the" request of deceased the ceremony was a private one, and only a few personal friends, including Sir Francis Bell (Leader of the Legislative Council), and the Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, were present. The Rev. J. M'Caw, of the Hutt, officiated, assisted by the Rev. J. Paterson. PUBLIC TEPID SWIMMING BATHS ♦ A feature of the tepid swimming bath now in course of completion in Tasmanstreet is the arrangement of hand lifts for the supply of refreshments for the public. The management states that nothing is being left undone that will make the baths attractive and enjoyable to all.
The Wanganui. Borough Council is calling for competitive designs for an Art Gallery proposed to be erected under tho Sarjeant Trust. The council has appointed Mr. S. Hurst Seagar, F.R.1.8.A., F.
