ROBBERY OF A SAFE.
A safe weighing about 3cwt was removed from the shop premises of Sing On Kee, Lambton-quay, between the hours of 5 and 9 last evening. It was reported that it contained £70 m cash, besides a quantity of silk and cigarettes. At an early hour this morning the missing chest was discovered in the harbour near the King's Wharf. When found the safe was open, and altogether barren of money. An ordinary coldchisel had been sufficient to force an opening.
