[BY TELEGRAPH — PKIiSS ASSOCIATION.] Invtrcahgill, 17th May. Messrs. Robert M'Nab and XV. F. Ward were the only candidates nominated for the Mataura seat. It was understood that had the Hon. Mr. Richardson been in a position to be nominated, Mr. M'Nab would have retired aud allowed him to be returned unopposed. This intention, although it cannot be carried out, has met with general approval, and Mr. M'Nab is commended for it.
