DEATH AT THE GAOL.

Henry Victor Clifford, late bailiff of the Resident Magistrate's Court, who, it will be remembered, was sentenced in September last to one year's imprisonment for perjury, died suddenly at the Gaol yesterday evening. He was seized with an epileptic fit shortly after 5 o'clock, and before Dr. Harding, who was at once sent for, could arrive, he was dead. Deceased had been under medical treatment for some time past. He was 34 years of age, and leaves a widow and two children. An inquest will be held at 4 o'clock to-day.
