INQUEST.

An inquest was held at the Morgue this afternoon, before Dr. Johnston, coroner, and a jury, on the body of Daniel Keefe, late crier and usher to the Supreme Court, previously chief messenger at the Government Buildings, and formerly a soldier in the 58th Regiment and in the Spanish Legion. The jury having viewed the remains, Dr. Diver stated that he was called in yesterday morning to deceased, bnt found him quite dead ; this morning he made a post mortem examination of the body ; he found the heart much diseased, there being atheromatous patches in all the principal arteries ; the liver also was much diseased ; it was greatly congested ; the cause of death, however, was the rupture of one of the vessels of the brain, in which he found nearly a pint of fluid blood ; death, therefore, was caused by sanguineous apoplexy. The jury returned a verdict of deatii from natural causes.
