THE LATE MINISTERIAL CRISIS IN CANTERBURY.
From the local journals, we learn that when the Canterbury Provincial Council met on Tuesday last, Messrs. Jollie, J. S. Williams, and Montgomery took their seats on the Ministerial bench, and in the course of the sitting it was stated that Mr. Jollie had accepted office as Secretary, with Mr. J. S. Williams aa Provincial Solicitor, and Mr. Montgomery a<? an unpaid member of the Executive. These appointments are said to be very satisfactory, but another paid member of the Executive, either a Treasurer, or Secretary for Public 'Works, is asked for by the Council. An outline of the policy of the new Executive was anuouueed to be brought down last night.
