DRINK AND SUICIDE.
William Rykers, a bootmaker, was found hanging tinder the Auckland wharf on Friday last. He was about 60 years of age. From the evidence at the inquest it appears that the deceased had been drinking for about four months and not doing anything. He had previously threatened to take his life. In consequence, Mrs Rykers bad gone to live with her son at Devonport. A letter was found on the body, but it was so illegible that nothing could be made of. it. There was a penny and a pencil found on the body. " Deceased was a Hollander, and leaves a family of seven children, ' most of whom are grown up.
