Auckland, Saturday. Although tho native team sustained such an apparently hollow boating at.the hands "V of Auckland, there is no doubt they played T a splendid game, and had all tho worut of the luck, Joe Wai'brick's .accident, which occurred ten minutes after the game commenced, ■ was a serious handicap, as the nativo members of tho toam act almost entirely under his direction, and with him bjhindthemtoinstructtlieirinovements/they must provo a hard nut for the best .provincial team to crack. _ Warbriek's injuries consist of a fracture of a small bone of tho ankle, and tho doctors say it will not bo better before the team roaahes England. The best play to-day •was shown by Ihimaira (alias "The Smiler") and K. Taiaroa. MoGatrsland, of the Batik of Now Zealand, has obtained twelve months leave of ftbsonce, and accompanies the team to England ae. secretary and umpire. It ia also niet possible that Elliott, tho crack - Auckland back, will accompany thd team. It is a notable fact that to-day's is tho first occasion Warbrick has played on the losing , side in a representative match.
