October 27.

At Lumsden Mr Peter Finn, who contests the Hokonui seat, proclaimed himself an out and out Greyite. He received an unanimous vote of confidence. Notwithstanding the large number conveyed by special train via the Waimea railway to Mr Driver's meeting at Gore only one hundred were present. Messrs Cowan and Driver at Gore both received votes of confidence. Very few, however, held up their hands at Cowan's meeting, though the meetings were substantially the Bame, and. nearly unanimous for Mr Driver. (For continuation of news see fourthpage.) It has now been decided beyond a doubt by all the leading- lights of the ape that the wave of heat which lately passed through England is coming for us in a direjt line.
