SUCCESS OF THE MAG ELI, AN CLOUD. A telegram lias been received from Russell by Mr. James Macf.ul.ins, who is now in Auckland, and which states that the whaler Magellan Cloud has secured 20 tanks of oil, the value of which, in lound numbeis, exceeds £2,000. This quantity had been obtained .ibout the beginning of October, and if a similar success as that which had previously marked the voyage has been obtained since that date, the trip of the Cloud will be a most successful one.
ARRIVAL OF THE MINNEHAHA. The ichooner Mianehaha arrived yesterday afternoon, grain laden, from Timaru, after a lengthened passage of sixteen days, duo to the weather, whioh wa.* light northerly and calm the whole way. Several dnys ago she spoke the brig Columbia off Hicks's Bay, nine days out from Napier.
Inwards Coastwise.- Cathorine, cutter, 10 tons, Roderick, from Kawakawa, with lime ; Manuring;, cutter, 21 tons, D.urach, fiom Mahurangi, with timber. Tho German barque Johan Cesar took her departure for Samoa yeiteiday. H.fil. s. Sapphire sailed for "Wellingtou yesterday afternoon. The schooner Queen sailed for Hokianga yestorday, -with a large general cargo. The cutter Catherine enteied in from Kawakawa yesterday. _ The cutter Mahurangi brought a cargo of timber from Mahurangi yesteiday. Tho schooner Clyde got away for the islands yesterday. The schooner Mary cleared and sailed for Wangarei yesterday, in ballast. The steamer Durham leave? Auckland for tho j Thames at noon to-day. All claims against the barque Abernyte have to be rendered in duplicate to Messis. L. D. Nathan and Co., on or before noon to morrow. The a.-i. St. Kilda leaves Oneluinga for Wanganui to-day at noon.
