CAMERONTOWN: SEIZURE OF A STILL.

Our Waiuku correspondent seada us the following particulars of the seizure of a sfcill at Camerontown :— " \ very clever capture has been effected by Constables Gamble aud Parker. It would appear from what I can learn that the two constables, acting on information received, proceeded to Camerontown, where they discovered all the "machinery of a distillery. There was a large copper sfcill, capable of holding between 30 and 40 gallons, a tin head, leader-worm, and other requirements. The constables approached the place with gveat caution, with the object of cap hiring any persons who might be in possession but the birds had. flown. They remained hidden all that day and during the following night in such a position aa to watch the still, but no one came, and they therefore destroyed the 'plant,' with the exception of the sfcill and appurfceuances, which they carriei a distance of three miles to the place where they had left; their horses. The articles were subsequently taken to Waiuku. The constables, I am informed, judged that the still had been some time in operati m, but from appearances they believed it had been recently removed from some other place. The articles found in the place indicated that ample preparations had been made for operations on a scale of considerable magnitude. I believe the parties implicated are known."
