FORMER MAYOR HONOURED
$ ■ PRESENTATION TO MR J. W. GREENSLADE (.SPECIAL TO TKI l-MBS.) GREYMOUTH, June 27. More than 70 representatives of district local bodies and citizens assembled in the Borough Council Chambers last evening to pay a tribute and make a presentation to the immediate past Mayor of Greymouth (Mr J. W. Greenslade), who' did not contest the last election, after holding the office for eight years. The Mayor (Mr W. Meldrum) presided, and in making the presentation of a wallet of notes paid a tribute to Mr Greenslade's services for the town and district during the 25 years that he had been connected with local bodies in Greymouth.
