Corsair Bay received a large : share of patronage, and the bathing season is already in full swing: . . MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Ifesnw "W. C. deary and 1 F. G. Norton, J.P.'e, presided at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Two flrsi offenders, for drunkerr QM9, were each fined sa. Another first offender was remanded for a week to recover from Oie effects of alcoholism. Richard Ernest Love pleaded guiltv to having assaulted Arthur Cheng, a Chinese ' ' boy, on Saturday last. Senior-Sorgeamt Jackson Mad that accused . . had entered the slop of a Chinese fruiterer, and after buying some oranges, had commenced to "shy" them at the Chineso boy ■who had served him. One of the oranges struok tb* boy on the face, raising a elisrht . lump. Accused'* story was that he had found fault with one of the oranges sold to him, and the boy thereupon became impertinent, telling accused that if tlhe oranges wero bad ' they were like himself. Accused then, ou the epur of the moment, threw the oranges . back ot the boy. Accused was convicted and fined £3, in default seven days' imprisonment.
