THE "WASHING-UP" BILL.

Tho "Washing-up" Bill contains provision for cancelling tlio reservation over Section 1050, Block 1, Otira, and making it available for disposal under tho Land Act, 1908.
The purpose of Reserve 3549, Upper Ashley, is changed from being a reservation in connexion with water supply to a Stat© forest reserve. It contains 13,000 acres. The reservation for railway purposes over a portion of Section 5, Oulvorden (settlement, is cancclled, and the land incorporated in a renewable loaso.^ There is a clause in the Bill modifying the provisions of the Trust affecting the Ellice endowment, Rangiora, one aero in extent, in the direction of allowing tho Church Property Trustees to sell the land.
The bridge reserve in Block 17, Lowry Peaks, is made available for disposal as Crown lands. It contains 23 acres.
Tlie reserve for timber purposes oyer Forest Reserve 3119, Alford, is cancelled, so that the provisions of the Goal Mines Act, 1908, can apply to it. The Amberley Town Board is to have control of the recreation reserve, to be known henceforth as the Amberley Domain, being part of Rural Section 7855, and the whole of Rural Section 7979, Block 12, Grey Survey District, and the recreation reserve of 214 acres, being Reserve 2056 in Block 8, Grey Survey District, is to remain under control of the Kowai Domain Board as tho Kowai Domain.
Section 76 provides that the New Brighton Borough Council may transfer to the Education Board of Canterbury, in trust for educational purposes, the feo simple of part of the land vested in the corporation of tho said borough, not exceeding four acres in all, being a rectangular area in South New Brighton, having a frontage of four chains on Jellicoe street.
