The, death is announced of Air Leonard Harper, son of Bishop Harper, Bishop <<i Christchureh. New Zealand.

The late Mr Jx?onard Harper was a son of Bishop Harper, who controlled the Christchuicb diocese for many years, and who succeeded Bishop Sefwvn in the Primacy oj New Zealand. Mr Leonard Harper was educated for the legal profession, and was a partner in the well-known firm of Harper and Co. Tie represented the Cheviot constituency in Ibc Houfco of Representatives from ]87<> io J877. and was the member for Avon from ISB4 t.o 1887. lie also took an interest in local affairs, and was a member and subsequently chairman of the Christchurch Drainage Board. He left New Zealand in the early 'nineties for Jersey, where ho lived up to the time of his death.
