PRIZE DISTRIBUTIONS.

LIXWOOD SCHOOL. Tno brcaking-up ceremony in connexion with tho Linwood School took, placo yesterday. Mr \V. 11. Dcnton, chairman of the committee, in presenting the certificates and prizes, thanked the pupils fo r their liberal response to the several patriotic appeals lately, und especially for the- £2 7e Cd given that morning in pennies for the Belgian children. .Nearly one hundred pupile had gained firat-claaa attendance oertificatee, not having missed once, a-nd tho echool, by tlw new Education Act, was placed in tho highest jp-ade. During tho ceremony Miss Bella Jardenj on behalf of Standard VI. pupils, presented Mr P. T. Evans, the headmaster, with a handsome travelling cane, while Mr D. M. Shirlaw and Miss M. Taylcr wero also recipients of presents from iheir respective cldbsee.
