The Victoria Amateur Turf Club's Spring Meeting will be continued at Caul&eld to-day. One of the principal events on the ciird is the Eclipse Stakes, a weicht-for-age event, run over a mile and ttiree furlongs. The committee of the Waimate Racing Cub has decided to increase the stakes for the»March Meeting from £805 to £ICSS. The increases affect the first horse only, and are as follows: — Scudholme Stakes £20, Trial Plate £40, Oip £80, Morven Trot £30, President's Handicap £25, Waitaki Handicap £40, Rook Trot £30, Stewards' Welter £15. The club has given £60 to the Patriotic Fund.
Dillon Bell, who arrived at Wellington from Sydney yesterday, put up a srood performance in the Flying Handicap, of ono mile, at the Australian Trotting Club's Meeting at Victoria Park, Sydney, on October 2nd, although he was beaten by Grace Wood. Tho winner is a six-year-old mare by Ribbonwood —Grace, and sho won from scratch, in 2min 19isec, while Dillon Bell, who was giving her 65 yards, was only a length behind her.
