DR. J. D. FRANKISH.

A telegram was received in Christchurch yesterday announcing the death of Dr. J. D. Frankish in a private hospital in Wellington. Dr. Frankish, who retired from practice some twenty years ago, was a well-known resident of this province, being at one time a member of the committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club, as well as a member of the Acclimatisation Society. He was also a member of the hospital staff, and was prominent in connection with the initial work of the St. John Ambulance Brigade in New Zealand. (rSESS ASSOCIATION TEtECKAM.) OAMARU, March 21.
