DRAINAGE BOARD ELECTIONS.

. TWO LABOUR CANDIDATES RETURNED. The triennial Drainage Board elections which took place yesterday ■«- suited in the return of two of-the Labour candidates, Messrs H. Holland and F. Burgoyne. Polling throughout the day aroused but little interest, the total number of Totes cast being only 2420 out of a roll number of 22,373. Tho booths closed at 6 p.m., and tho first return, that from Knos school, was received at 6.2 p.m., which establishes an easy record for prompt election work. The results were received by the returning officer, Mr Geo. \V. Hulme, at tho Provincial Council Chajnbsr, and tho final totals announced by him to a email gathering which had gathered outside to hear rha results. As tho result of the polling, Messrs Bingham, Storey, Otley, and Barlow, sitting members, were ieturned, also Messrs H. Holland and F. Burgoyne, Labour candidates.
