MR JOHN BEVAN.
(PBESS ASSOCIATION TK-EGRAM.) HOKITIKA. July 16. The death of Mr John Bevan, who was member for Hokitika in the Houso ot Representatives twenty-seven years ago, occurred here this morning. Ho had held many important public positions. He was a most enthusiastic Freemason for fifty years, and as a ritualist ho had few equals in the Dominion. During his long term of office ho was called upon to perform many important Masonic ceremonies, including the installation somo years ago of tho late Sir Donald McLean, as District Master of Wellington. Deceased, who leaves a widow, was 74 years of age.
