FIRES.

PAHIATUA, Juno 27. Shortly after 1 a.m., a fire broke out in a building owned by T. C. Williams, of Wellington, and occupied by Jack Ping, a Chinese fruiterer; Husband, a land agent; and Abraham and Williams, auctioneers. The fire began in the sitting-room at the back of Ping"s, and extended to Husband's, but was then suppressed. No damage was done- to Abraham and Williams's office. The- building was insured for £8/50, Ping for £600, and Husband for £75.
