WAXGAXUI, May 19. ~ Pawa, Exmoor, Indian Mutiny, Tilson, Auratuß, and Astraea. were amongst the horses which arrived yesterday. Heavy rain 101 l during tho night, ranking the tracks somewhat holding. Prosser'a team were out early, all doing strong work, Puwa especially going well. After breakfast Slippery Queen left five furionga behind very smartly. St. Bill and "VVirraT were given a couple of solid rounds separately. Tilaon pleased the touts by tho way he shaped, covering a couple of rounds at three-quarter pace, pulling double. Indian Mutiny also galloped very resolutely over the same distance. Chascmab was given similar work. Whimper wsb restricted to long ulow work. Astraea sprinted fivo furlongs in Mocassin and Kangihoeta eaoh did useful gallops, both moving well. Belario acquitted himself well over the schooling hurdk's. Irish Rlflo and Daisy Paul were sent a mile on the course proper to test the state of the going, which proved very satisfactory at the bend, where it was so bad in March Inst. Irish Itifle had a rood deal the worst of the weights, but easily held his own, neither being extended.

NOTES. A Press Association message from Hastings states that Jack Pot, Woodhey, Nogi, Lamadorff, Waipu, and Kiateie left yesterday morning for "Waiiganui. He is a great strider, und when he won his first race this season— the Greenham Stakes, at Newbury— he was the. fittest horse in the field. From India comes word of the death of the four-year-old Currandooley (Argonaut—Griddle), who, subsequent to -winning last year's Adelaide .St. Leger, was bought for IOOOgs on behalf of Mr P. B.4Avasia. Currandooley started a few times in India without success.
