So far the enthusiasm exhibited .in the election is not great. ___ meeting of Mt Charles Taylor's executive committee was held lijat night, when further arn_ge__ent_. were made for meetings to be beld throughout the electorate. iMr Taylor will address the electors at Sydenham on {Monday. A meeting of Mr G. J. Smith's friends and supporters was held in the Methodist Schoolroom, St. Albams, last night. Mr C. Salter was voted io tho onair. After Mr Smith had addressed those present, the ' meeting adopted a resolution endorsing Mr Smith's candidature- Mr C E. Salter was elected chairman of the committee, and Air W. Hindle secretary. A meeting will be held at Stanmore road, Richmond, tonight. The Registrar of Elections $M_r L. C. Williams) received notice of the issue of a writ for the election of a member for tho city of Christchurch yesterday, consequently no further additional names can be placed on the roll for the city.
