MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
The annual elections for Mayors took place yesterday. The following were the results:— CITY OP CHRISTCHURCH. There was a good deal of interest taken in the election, and all the friends of the different candidates were working hard. Shortly after seven o'clock the result was declared as follows :— W. H. Cooper — — 587 T. Gapes M- .« 364 E. Smith ... .« 246 Mr W. H. Cooper was declared duly elected as Mayor of Chriatcharoh for the ensuing term. The successful candidate and Mr Gapes addressed the crowd who bad oolleoted.
